Aetna Voices of Health

The Malta House of Care has been selected as the only organization in Connecticut to compete in Aetna’s online Voices of Health contest. This makes the Malta House of Care one of only 35 organizations in the U.S. to compete for the top prize of $25,000 in the Voices of Health national campaign. The organization that receives the most online votes will be awarded the $25,000 prize.

Your vote for the Malta House of Care can help the foundation continue to provide medical care to some of the neediest members of our community. Winning the $25,000 top prize with go a long way toward providing care the foundation’s mobile clinic patients.

The Malta House of Care’s next fundraising event will be held on Sunday, October 23rd, 2011 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at the Mark Twain Conference Center in Hartford. This event will be a chamber music concert and wine reception, featuring performing artists from across the United States and from around the world. One of the featured performers will be Heiichiro Ohyama, Music Director and Conductor of the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra.

Wonder Women Honorees

 

Watch this space for news of our honorees. On Tuesday, May 10th, 2011 the MHC will be recognizing thirteen prominent women from the Greater Hartford area who are being honored by the MHC Foundation for their volunteerism at a cocktail reception and fundraiser. In addition to the ticket sales which will include a donation to help raise much needed funds, we will hold a teacup auction to increase proceeds which will support direct patient care..

Wonder Women 2011

Mark your calendars for the evening of May 10th, 2011! The Malta House of Care Foundation will be hosting an evening celebrating volunteerism and women helping women. Come and enjoy cocktails and tapas, while networking with some of Hartford’s own wonder women. Event honorees include Malta House of Care Foundation’s own Filomena Soyster. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a teacup auction and have fun with glamor photographs.

Resolution for a healthy 2011

It’s a new year, this 2011. We often hear of people make “new year’s resolutions” around the time the year turns from old to new. We’re wondering – do you any of you have any resolutions related to health? Are you resolving to eat better? Perhaps you are resolving to exercise more? Maybe you want to improve the quality of your relationships with those close to you in your life. Whatever the resolution, we’d love to hear about it.

    The Malta House of Care in Waterbury

    The Malta House of Care is proud to be bringing its mobile clinic services to Waterbury, CT. Our current location is at the Sacred Heart-Sagrado Corazon Church at 13 Wolcott Street. Our volunteer medical staff will see patients on a first-come, first-served basis. Like our Hartford service, our Waterbury mobile clinic service will provide primary health care services to patients, as well as provide referrals to other providers as necessary.

    We are planning for the following additional locations in Waterbury:

  • Saint Francis Xavier – 625 Baldwin Street
  • Saint Margaret – 289 Willow Street
  • Saint Stanislaus Kostka – 80 East Farms Street
  • Starting dates for the above locations are currently being determined.
